All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Mrs. Esther Read Morrison Mrs. Esther Read Morrison, 72, of RR 2, Greenville, died at 9:30 AM, Friday, January 20, 1967, after an illness of several years. She had lived her lifetime in Hunt County, and her current home was in the Kingston community. A housewife, she was born October 23, 1894, in Hunt County, the daughter of J. H. Read and Louise Thomas Read. She married Elmer J. Morrison on October 16, 1911, in Kellogg, and the husband, of Greenville survives. She was a member of the Kingston Baptist Church. Mrs. Morrison was active in Home Demonstration work and taught Sunday School classes for many years. Services were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 1967, at Coker-Mathews- Peters Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Bill Reisor and the Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Burial was in McWright Cemetery. Survivors include, along with the husband, are three sons, O. B. Morrison of Bonham and Fletcher Morrison and Jimmy Morrison, both of Greenville; a daughter, Mrs. R. H. Monday of Fort Worth; three brothers, John Read of Spur, Woodrow Read of Graham, and Mack Read of Paducah; a sister, Mrs. Carl Lamm of Kingston; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, and several brothers and sisters. Pallbearers were Bert Reisor, L. B. McKay, Ray Williams, Albert Hammack, Billy Merl Quattlebaum, and Ward Thomas, Jr. (January 27, 1967, The Celeste Courier)
