E. Orr died at his home about three miles north of this city. Mr. Orr was taken sick last Friday with a chill, which soon developed into a case of double pneumonia, both lungs being attacked from the effects of which he died. Mr. and Mrs. Orr spent Christmas Day with Mrs. B. F. Brown in Dallas and soon after their return home Mr. Orr was attacked by the fatal disease. C. E. Orr was born in Georgia in 1843 and came to Texas when he was 7 years of age with his parents, who settled near Jefferson. When the Civil War broke out he cast his lot with the South when a mere boy. He fought in Ross's Brigade, Ninth Texas Cavalry. When the war closed he returned to his home. About fifteen years ago he and family moved to this county, locating near the city, where he passed away yesterday. The deceased was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his widow and ten children, Mrs. B. F. Brown, C. G. Orr, Mrs. R. R. Holland, G. J. Orr of Dallas, Thomas C. Orr of Corsicana, N. C. Orr of Oklahoma City, W. W. Orr of this city, Archer and Milton Orr, Mrs. K. C. Sterrett of Abernathy, all of whom were with their father at the time of his demise. The funeral services were held in the First Presbyterian Church and burial was made in the City Cemetery.
