Paris, 83, of Greenville, Texas, died Saturday, November 2, 2002, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 6, at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard with Rev. Ricky Paris officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. The son of John Paris and Purna Greenwood Paris, he was born September 28, 1919, in Celeste, Texas. On October 5, 1940, he married May Turney in Wolfe City. Mr. Paris served in the US Army during World War II. He worked as a carpenter and was affiliated with the Church of Christ. Surviving are sons Barry Paris of Greenville, Larry Paris of Hurst, Jerry Paris of Cabot, Arkansas, and Ricky Paris of Palestine; a daughter, Linda Weaver of Cedar Park; sisters Louise Woodruff of Wolfe City, Edith Isbell of Denison, Imogene Wallace and Arvina Barnes of Greenville, and Earlene Foster of Emory; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at the funeral home. (November 5, 2002, The Greenville Herald Banner)
