She was the sister of Mr. S. H. (Huse) Jones of Leonard. Dr. Parrish practiced in Crowell, Thalia, and Leonard before going to Vernon in 1908. She retired in the 1930's. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 7, 1965, at Vernon. Burial was made in a Vernon cemetery. Survivors are one son, Roy Parrish of San Antonio; two daughters, Mrs. John Abbot of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Elbert Bunch of Dallas; and her sister, Mrs. Huse Jones of Leonard. Mr. and Mrs. Huse Jones and their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Pat Jones, attended the services Tuesday. (December 10, 1965, The Celeste Courier) I included this because Pat Jones had a Celeste connection and it is interesting to read that people we know about were "firsts." ********************************************************* USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: Copyright.
