Mrs. J. B. Pearce

Mrs. J. B. (James Brownlee) Pearce, mother of Dr. D. Pearce of Leonard, died at
her home of Lasker Avenue in Waco on Wednesday, November 30, 1955, at the age of
eighty-nine.

Funeral services and burial were held in Waco on Thursday.

Mrs. Pearce was born on October 27, 1866, in Mississippi and was Molly (Mollie
Van) Kirksey before her marriage to John B. Pearce on December 19, 1883, in
Itawamba County, Mississippi. They were former Hunt County and Celeste, Texas
residents. Mr. Pearce preceded her in death on September 4, 1948.

She is survived by nine children, Dr. D. Pearce of Leonard, John Pearce of San
Angelo, Kirksey T. Pearce of Greenville, Mrs. Oscar (Verna Edith) Evans and Mrs.
Carl (Gussie Iva) Sitton of Fort Worth, Mrs. Grady (Mattie Evelyn) Steen of
Mason, Mrs. Lester (Anna Mae) Jorden of Los Angeles, Mrs. S. W. (Verda Ila Ruth)
Ferguson and Miss Rosalie Pearce of Waco; fifteen grandchildren; and sixteen
great-grandchildren.

Two children preceded her in death.
