All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Opal Faye Coats Perkins Sunnyvale--Opal Faye Coats Perkins was born March 3, 1914, in Commerce. She was the fourth of nine children born to Lonnie Coats and Florence Stewart Coats. She died July 7, 2004, in Dallas, surrounded with love by her husband and children. She was married to Ray Perkins on October 29, 1937, and lived over fifty years in Hunt County, in the Hickory Creek community, before moving to the Buckner Baptist Retirement Village in Dallas to be near her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband, Ray, of Dallas; a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Graves and Johnny Graves of Mesquite; a son and daughter-in- law, Michael Perkins and Myna Perkins of Highland Park; grandsons Brent Graves, Brian Graves, and Justin Perkins; granddaughters, Jordan Perkins and Katie Perkins; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack Perkins and Helen Perkins of Dallas; and a host of friends. Services were held 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Casa View Baptist Church, 2626 Gus Thomason Road, Dallas, where she was a member of The Joy Class. Dr. Karl Tingle officiated. Burial followed at 2:00 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Nephews were pallbearers. Family received friends at New Hope Funeral Home, 50 East Highway 80, Sunnyvale, on Friday, July 9, 2004, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. (July 9, 2004, The Greenville Herald Banner)
