All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Stella Fox Sparks Mrs. Stella Sparks of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, formerly of Celeste, died on December 2, 1977, in a Baton Rouge nursing home. Services were at 2:00 PM, Sunday, at W. Y. Goff Chapel in Commerce. Burial was in Rosemound Cemetery. Born on April 18, 1892, in Dalton, Georgia, she was the daughter of W. L. Fox and Alice Lee Lowry Fox. The family moved to Texas when she was a child and settled in Hunt County. Mrs. Sparks was a retired teacher, having taught in Hunt County and fourteen years in South Texas. After her retirement, she lived in Commerce where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, B. E. Sparks of Highland, California and L. J. Sparks of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a daughter, Mrs. H. G. Boynton of Baton Rouge; three brothers, M. W. Fox of San Angelo, J. Ben Fox of Los Angeles, California, and W. W. Fox of Longview; a sister, Mrs. Tom Waters of Emory; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sparks.
