Tilson died of heart failure at 3:10 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home in Campbell. Mr. Tilson was an old-time citizen of Hunt County and has long been prominent in public affairs of the county. He was a native of Virginia and when the war broke out he joined the Confederate army and served during the conflict with bravery and credit. In his early life Mr. Tilson taught school. He was married to Miss Bettie Palmer and is survived by no children, but has one brother living, he being Capt. T. J. Tilson of Plainview. Mr. Tilson was a member of the Baptist Church and the funeral services were conducted this afternoon by Rev. A. A. Duncan, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Greenville, after which burial took place in the Brigham Cemetery, north of Campbell.
