Woodruff, age 85 of Trenton, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 6, 2004, at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard, Texas, with Rev. Casey Ingold and Rev. Chris Cowen officiating. Burial will follow at the Burns Cemetery. Mr. Woodruff passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the VA Nursing Home Care Unit. He was born on April 1, 1919, the son of Alton Tony Woodruff and Fannie Pearl Russell Woodruff. He married Frances Compton on December 24, 1947, in Celeste. He was a farmer and a rancher and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leonard, Texas. He served in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Frances Woodruff of Tom Bean, Texas; sons, Stan Woodruff and wife, Alice Woodruff of Tom Bean, Texas; Gary Woodruff and wife, Rachelle Woodruff of Leonard, Texas; brothers, R.T. Woodruff of Greenville, Texas; Mac Woodruff of Trenton, Texas; Jack Woodruff of Hurst, Texas; Pete Woodruff of Trenton, Texas; sisters, Sue Anderson of Randolph, Texas; Billye Joe Hankins of Hurst, Texas; five grandchildren, Chris Woodruff, Jeremy Woodruff, Cory Stark, Jerrod Woodruff and Brooke Woodruff; and two great- grandchildren, Taylor Woodruff and Madison Woodruff. Family visitation will be Wednesday, May 5, 2004 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. (May 5, 2004, North Texas E-News)
