She was born June 9, 1906, and farmed the place her parents lived, making nineteen crops of cotton herself. Following her mother's death, she sold the farm and moved to Greenville where she worked at Skibell's ladies wear store on Lee Street for nineteen years. Miss Hudson retired from Skibell's and did alterations in her home until her health determined that she lived where she could have nursing care. Celebrating with her were nieces Helen Henson of Greenville, Jo Hall of Tyler, Ruby Hudson of Greenville, a great-nephew, Lynn Hudson of Caddo Mills, and a great-niece Jean Morris of Greenville. (June 27, 2004, The Greenville Herald Banner) (Miss Ila was Mrs. Ida Arey's twin sister. Also, Skibell's was one of the nicer dress stores in Greenville. Weren't there three stores in a row on Lee Street...or just two of them?)
