This copy contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Sarah Swindell 9 February 2003 Marriage of Miss Ophie EVERETT and Judd STUART Marriages: The Celeste Courier, 2 July 1958, Hunt County, Texas CELESTE Miss Ophie Everett and Judd Stuart Wed in Tennessee Before a mantle decorated with a sunburst arrangement of white gladioli and leather leaf fern and two white wrought iron floor candelabrums of burning white tapers, Miss Ophelia Everett and Judd Stuart of Covington, Tennessee, pledged their wedding vows Sunday morning, June 13, 1965, at nine o-clock in the lovely new home of Mr. and Mrs. Hance Lassiter in Huntington, Tennessee. The Rev. O. M. Dangeau, pastor of the First Baptist Church of McKenzie, Tennessee, officiated in the presence of the immediate family and friends. Wedding music was rendered by Mrs. Lassiter at the organ. Miss Everett is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Everett of McKenzie and Mrs. Stuart is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Stuart of Covington, Tennessee. The bride was attired in a pale blue embossed silk sheath bound in satin, with white lace hat and gloves. Her corsage was a white orchid. Mrs. Roe Alexander, who wore a pink jersey dress with white accessories and a white carnation corsage was the bride's attendant. Jack Everett, brother of the bride, served as Mr. Stuart's best man. Mrs. Everett, is a graduate of McKenzie High School. She attended Memphis State University and East Texas State College and received a BS degree from Bethel College. She is a retired teacher and basketball coach and has been very active in civic and church work, having served as chairman of the McKenzie Cheer Club, Secretary-Treasurer of the Executive Committee for the Mentally Retarded School in Carroll County, Tennessee. She serves as scorer in basketball gams for McKenzie High School, Bethel College, and tournaments in this area. Mr. Stuart is a graduate of Byars-Hall High School in Covington, Tennessee, served in the US Air Force, and is a member of the American Legion and past president of the Covington Exchange Club. He is engaged in the grocery business in Covington. After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart will live at 219 West Sherrod, Covington, Tennessee. Following the wedding Sunday morning, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Everett were hosts at a breakfast at the Holiday Inn in Milan for Mr. and Mrs. Stuart. Joining them for the event were Mr. and Mrs. Roe Alexander and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thompson of Cleveland, Ohio.
