Six children were reared there. Approximately one hundred fifty guests registered during the calling hours. Present for the celebration and hosts were children, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Glasscock and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glasscock of Celeste and Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Beutnagal and Bill Glasscock of Houston. Other children are John Glasscock of Los Angeles and Mrs. Lillie Pickle of San Diego. Guests were served from the circular table laid in a floor length net cloth over gold. The anniversary cake, framed confection in four tiers, was decorated in yellow rosebuds and gold rimmed wedding bells. A centerpiece of yellow mums and crystal serviced completed the arrangements. On display were numerous gifts significant of the esteem the couple enjoyed from friends and family. Also on display were the wedding dress and nightgown. The dress, a slender softly gathered full length skirt was of white satin with delicate net trim. The wide crushed girdle of satin gave an empire effect to the gown. Mrs. Glasscock remembers that her father, the late Bob Marshall, purchased the dress at Spurlock and Hagan Store in Greenville at the then extravagant price of sixteen dollars. The nightgown is of crepe with a hand-crocheted yoke and was made by Mrs. Drew Perkins. (August 11, 1967, The Celeste Courier)
