All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************* Currins Married For Sixty Years Bill and Ruth Currin of Greenville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday, September 20, 2003, with a reception in the parlor of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Hosts were their son and daughter-in-law, Mike Currin and Linda Currin of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and the honoree's sisters, Martha Campbell, Winona Foley, Lucy Luttrell, and Mildred Currin Luttrell. Currin and the former Ruth Wooten were married September 19, 1943, in Greenville, and they have lived her their entire married lives. Currin is a veteran of both the US 8th Calvary and WWII Air Force, and he retired from the Greenville Fire Department after thirty years of service. He serves on the Advisory Board of Directors for Cap Rock Electric. His wife, a former Celeste High School student in the 1940's, Ruth Wooten Currin retired after thirty-four years with Greenville Automatic Gas Company. Both are members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. They have three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. (September 21, 2003, The Greenville Herald Banner) Ruth's brother lived and died in Celeste. Ruth's aunts lived in Celeste as did other members of her family. Miss Ona Lacks, Celeste school teacher, was one of Ruth's aunts.
