All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Dean McKennon Wadley, Jr 1943-2007 Dean McKennon Wadley, Jr. age 63, was born in Borger, Texas on February 16, 1943 and passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at his home in Oklahoma City. Dean was raised in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and in ’61 – ’62 attended Northeastern State University. He entered The University of Oklahoma in ‘63 and earned a Bachelor of Architecture in 1968. He received an ROTC commission in the U.S. Army as Lieutenant in the Signal Corp. and served in Vietnam. Dean worked with various Oklahoma City architectural firms for 9 years and has been a licensed architect since ’79. He established FKW Incorporated in 1979 as president and CEO. From a three-man design firm, he developed a multi- disciplined Architectural/Engineering firm. Dean retired in 1999. He was active in the Oklahoma Architectural Association, Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, and Society of American Military Engineers. He was a member of The University of Oklahoma Alumni Foundation and the Northeastern State University Alumni Association. He is a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where he served on the architectural design team for many years. He enjoyed sports and was an avid tennis player. Dean was preceded in death by his father, D.M. “Doc” Wadley and mother, Capitola Anderson Wadley. Dean is survived by his wife, Joyce. One son, Dean, III and wife Amber, and two grandchildren Kaitlyn and Connor of Oklahoma City. He is survived by two brothers, Gregg and wife Betsy of Edmond, and Tim and wife Linda of San Francisco, CA nephew Gregg II of Oklahoma City; niece Abby of San Francisco; cousins Marc Bowman and wife Judy of Tulsa, Ann Wadley of Tahlequah, George Wadley, III and wife Linda of Camarilla, CA., Georgia Lee Cason of Tulsa; Cynthia Tucker, and Rebecca Phillips. Also survived by uncles Joe and Jack Anderson and aunts Bobbye Simpson and Marie Wadley; mother-in-law Lenora Taylor; brother-in-law Gary Taylor and wife Kathy; nephew Gib Taylor and wife Christy and their daughters Sarah and Jamie all of Tahlequah; and by many devoted and life-long friends. Memorials may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Children’s Education Fund or a charitable organization of your choice. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery. Published February 05, 2007 in Muskogee Phoenix
