All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** The Jacksboro Gazette Jacksboro, Jack County, Texas Thursday, May 24, 1917 Loving Family Hold Reunion at Old Home Place The following members of the Loving family held a reunion at the old home of the family in Loving Valley, Palo Pinto County: Mrs. Roach and daughter, Mrs. J.R. Owens and J.P. Owens and their son, George Owens of Weatherford, Mrs. Raines and daughter, Mary Sue McCracken of Mineral Wells, and Mrs. McCrackenÕs guest, Mrs. Quarles of Dallas, Mrs. Mary Loving, Captain and Mrs. George Spiller and son, Loving Spillers of Jacksboro, Oliver Loving and son and daughter, Oliver, Jr. and Lois, Mr. And Mrs. Will Loving and son, will Jr. of Jermyn. The place where the family reunion was held was one of the old homes in this part of Texas. Mrs. SpillerÕs grandfather having settled there in 1855. The family remained there during the civil war but afterward moved to Weatherford. They met at the old spring where happy days had been spent years ago. The party visited the place where the home once was, but only a few stones now mark the spot. They had quite a number of pictures taken among them being a group of Mrs. LovingÕs family which included four generations, Mrs. Loving, Oliver Loving, Will Loving and Will Loving, Jr. There were three generations present of the families of each Mrs. Roach and Mrs. Raines.
