All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************************* Indian Fight in the Edge of Jacksboro It was about the year 1867 the savages appeared at the home of Jack Cooper, who lived on the outskirts of the frontier town of Jacksboro. Mr. Cooper, at the time, was away, but his boys exchanged several shots with the Indians, who were attempting to steal horses locked in a stable. H. C. (Coon) Cooper received a wound in his shoulder, and much blood indicated that one of the savages was also wounded. Note: Author personally interviewed Mrs. Ed. Wolfforth. A. M. Lasater. B. L.
