Mr. Hardgraves has about completed his gin house. Antelope Jesse Myers, son-in-law of James Nicholas departed this life on the 10th instant. Mr. Meyers came to Jack County last winter from Florida. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss. Rev. Williams is conducting a protracted meeting at Antelope. P.H. Stone is putting in flouring machinery in his rock gin house. Mayor Pendleton of Fort Worth created quite a sensation in Fort Worth a few days ago by going to New Orleans and marrying Miss Cullen, a Fort Worth telephone operator. Mayor Pendleton claimes to have a Chicago divorce from his first wife, but the records so far have failed to show such a decree of court. The Fort Worth people were startled Tuesday by the announcement that Rev. Dr. Mitchell, pastor of the Broadway Presbyterian church, was in jail for forgery, five of the national banks of Fort Worth being the victim. Dr. Mitchell, a few weeks ago was considered the most learned, eloquent and popular man in Fort Worth. Sparks Springs Peter Lynn and family have gone to King county to visit Mr. Lynn’s brother. Messrs. Tol Ginn, J.R. Bryant and W.C. Groner visited Jacksboro. Mr. Robinson is sick. Meeting at the Sparks Springs school house.
