Sloan and 90 others granted a second class road beginning at Jermyn going north to the intersect the Henrietta and Graham road at the northwest corner of Roy Jacksons land. Granted the request of trustees in common school district 23 to sell the old school building, the community having built a new house. Ernest Loyd Middlebrooks, was born in Jack County 20 March 1897 and died 27 October 1912. He leaves both parents, 2 brothers, four sisters, other relatives and many dear school mates to mourn his death. One sister and one brother have gone before him. His parents have lost a kind and dutiful son; brothers and sisters have lost a loving and affectionate brother. Antelope News Farmers are picking cotton. School began here 4 November 1912 with Prof. Glenn of Duncan, Oklahoma as principal and Miss Dell Smith of Bryson assistant. Rev. Davis preached Sunday. W.D. Moore Noble Patton Miss Susie King of Bowie Emmett Spence of Gainesville. Floyd Dodd of Decatur visited his parents. Willow Point News W.A. Armstrong is beginning on a new store building. It will be good size and a two story building and the upper story will belong to the Odd Fellows Lodge of Willow Point. Carl Cheves Rev. JA. Matthews preached at the Baptist church. M.C. Franklin of Westbrook. Miss Cloy Sheppard is teaching school at Boonville. Mr. Norton of Bridgeport B.H. Gregg sold his farm to B.M. Green. G.L Armstrong who is in business at Balsoria will move back on his farm. J.H. Evans sold his house and lot to J.F. Kilpatrick. Mr. Evans will move back on his farm near Joplin. Mr. Baldwin from Arkansas moved on the Boggy place. D. Hestand rented the Martin residence for the next year and will work in the store for W.A. Armstrong. Charles Todd of Vineyard. Robert Owens of Westbrook. J. Frank Boyd occupies the garaged building formerly occupied by C. Warren Patton. Mr. Patton moved out previous to building a new garage. Friendship News Our school at Friendship starts Monday with Mr. Counts as teacher. Rev. B.S. Hawton has been called as pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church. He is attending Southwestern Theological Seminary at Fort Worth this year. Mrs. Lila Henderson was born in Jack County 25 February 1888 and died 15 November 1912. She was raised near Union Point, her father, C.C. Weir, having resided on his farm there many years. She was converted in 1902 and joined the M.E. Church at Dameron in August 1903, her membership being transferred to Center Point later. She was married to C.C. Henderson 25 October 1903. She leaves her husband and three little boys. Her oldest, a little girl, passed to the beyond 10 March 1905. As a girl she was loved by all who knew her; as a wife and mother she was loving, kind and true. Farewell to Judge Patterson Weatherford Herald Thursday a large crowd of citizens and attorneys of the city congregated at the Texas & Pacific station for the purpose of extending to Judge and Mrs. J.W. Patterson, of Decatur, the parting hand, as they boarded the train for their home, after the Judge had just closed his last term of district court in Weatherford. For 24 years, Judge J. W. Patterson has twice each year, presided over the district court of Parker county. Since the organization of the 40th Judicial District in 1887, or from the regular election, Judge Patterson has held this office; only twice in that length of time has he had an opponent, and now because of rapidly failing health, he is compelled to resign from active life and await that end which comes to all. Sycamore News School will begin soon, Mr. Wilson Hood of Post Oak will teach. Mrs. Fannie Burchell has typhoid fever. Mr. And Mrs. Oscar Brown will start for Oklahoma to make their home. Mr. And Mrs. Jim Brown of Whitt visited Mr. Browns sister, Mrs. J.L. Newman. Rev. Strange preached Saturday night. L.O. Cullers and Miss Nannie Jones of Bryson were married 3 November 1912, Rev. J.E. Sparkman officiating. Married at the home of the brides parents, Mr. And Mrs. A.T. Smith, Mrs. Willie Graves and Otis Sullivan of Wichita Falls, Rev. C.P. Welch officiating. Mr. And Mrs. Sullivan left for Wichita Falls where they will make their home. Mr. Sullivan begin in the grocery business there. Jacksboro Personals Kit Coats returned from New Mexico. Miss Mary Caudell of Palo Pinto. Rev. F.M. Cheek of Friendship community. Dick Carrow of Henrietta. Mrs. C.O. Hess, Mrs. Frank Boyd and Miss Bertha Cherry visited Mrs. J.B. Norris of Graham. Mrs. John W. Gaskin and daughters, Eunice and Zela visited Mrs. Gaskins parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Mauldin of Finis. Mrs. W.D. Bradfield has returned home from Wellington accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. K.P. Richardson. L.C. Denman of Abilene. Bob Obarts of Joplin J.W. Briscoe and daughters, Gladys and Lillie of Sycamore.
