Poteet preached at the Methodist church Sunday. Mrs. Stella Hand visited her mother, Mrs. Russ of Post Oak. H.E. Wilcox, H.K. Penny, S.N. Kimmal and J.W. Hopper made an auto trip to Wichita Falls. W.W. Shuler of Oklahoma City and partner of H.E Wilcox oil promoter and operator of Jermyn arrived Monday. He was accompanied by Mr. Whitney and wife, formerly of Cripple Creek, Colorado. Mr. Whitney is both an oil and coal man and is to look into the mining possibilities here. Ð Jermyn News Work on the well on the Stoney Barb Ranch, just north of Megargel is progressing. The well was at a depth of 1070 feet on Thursday of this week and oil prospects are favorable. Another well will be sunk just north of Megargel at a very early date. Ð Megargel Enterprise The First Baptist Church of Fort Worth was destroyed by fire Saturday night. This edifice was built years ago by Dr. J. Morgan Wells, pastor of the First church at that time. It was built as one of the finest church buildings in the Southwest and was when burned one of the finest church edifices in Fort Worth. Jacksboro Personals Carl Hanna of Jermyn Thomas D. Sporer Ed L. Merriman of Gibtown Mrs. Hollis of Dallas visited her parents, Mr. And Mrs. J.C. Price Paul Teague left for his home returning with his mother, Mrs. Bird Teague who had been visiting her parents, Mr. And Mrs. W.V. Allen. James Nelms and Miss Mabel Wells went to Graham Saturday where they were married by J.F. Pursley. Mr. Nelms is quite popular and has a cottage on East Archer Street. Mrs. Nelms has been quite a popular girl in the younger set of Jacksboro young ladies. Mrs. M.E. Harmon quietly fell asleep in Jesus 25 January 1912, aged 80 years, 3 months, and 14 days. She leaves an aged husband, seven children and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. They grieve over her loss but they do not weep as those who have no hope knowing that she rests in that place of eternal bliss where there is no sorrow, death or parting. Weep not for our loss is her eternal gain. A Friend. D.R. Sewell has purchased the L.C. Denman stock of buggies, hardware, etc. Mr. Sewell has not altogether decided where he will close out the stock or continue the business. Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Denman expects to leave for Abilene where they will make their home.
