Lots are selling right along. Mr. Stephens land (15,000 acres) is on the market and Westover is built on one corner of this land. Rev. Tooley preached Sunday. Rev. Burnett of Abilene preached Sunday. He is a young man of ability in the pulpit. He will preach here once a month from now on. The laying of the corner stone for the new school building was held. Fred Moore, good roads contractor died at his camp near Bailey Friday of measles. Mr. Moore was a man of genial disposition and had many friends during his stay here. He built the Savage road and to the county line on the Sam Houston road, his work is said to be satisfactory. He recently moved his camp to the Bailey district where he had secured contracts for construction of other roads. He was reared near Jacksboro and was 29 years old. He was survived by his wife, two children, and his mother. Remains were interred here [Leonard, Texas], the funeral held by Rev. W.W. Morris. Leonard (Texas) Graphic Bean Prairie News Walter Riggs has the measles. Miss Esther Nelson visited her sister, Mrs. Clifford Riggs Oil well sunk on Walter Hamiltons farm. Miss Norman Brown gave a valentine party. She drives from her home in Jacksboro to school, eight miles away. This is Miss Norma Browns first school. Her father and mother were among Jack Countys most successful teachers. M.M. Worley has bought the Dr. F.R. Bowles residence. Dr. Bowles is building a residence on his farm near Elbert. Throckmorton News Jacksboro Personals Chloe Meadows visited his parents, Mr. And Rms. G.W. Meadows. Eugene Sewell of T.C. U. visited his parents, Mr. And Mrs. D.R. Sewell. Aynes Brown of Hansford visited his parents, Mr. And Mrs. T.N. Brown. Miss Mary Hilton came down from Young County to visit her parents, Mr. And Mrs. J.P. Hilton. Will and Ray Spivey of Clay county visited their brother, Hugh Spivey. Ray will leave for Fellows, California. A.M. Lasater visited his daughter, Mrs. F.G. Huckabay. Mrs. Wortham of Reno, Nevada visited her cousin, J.N. Morrow. Dr. H.M. Longino has been at Magnolia, Ark., visited his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. D.D. Goode. Mrs. H.T. Daugherty and daughter, Miss Mary are at Munday due to the serious illness of Mrs. Daughertys sister, Mrs. May, formerly Miss Ellen Isbell. Miss Nettie Nowlin has charge of the Perkins-Timberlake Co.s millinery. Miss Nowlin lived in Jacksboro some years ago. Mr. And Mrs. John W. Carter, Miss Alma Carter, Mrs. Leatherwood and son and daughter, Den and Miss Wynnelle, Mr. And Mrs. J.T. Roney and son, Paul of Jermyn visited Mrs. John Kennedy of Burton Springs Bob Obarts, Warren Abernathy and Riley Anderson of Joplin Mr. And Mrs. James R. Robinson of Lubbock are at Mineral Wells.
