Brant, 63, died at his ranch home three miles northwest of town Monday. Funeral conducted at the home by Rev. A.R. Bilberry, pastor of the First Baptist church assisted by Rev. Garrett, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial in Oakwood cemetery by the Masonic fraternity. Mr. Brant was well known over Jack county as a prominent cattle man and ranch operator and also as a pioneer of this section of the state. He was a native of Denton county and came to Jack county in 1881. Survived: widow; 2 sons Ð Carl and A.D., both of Jacksboro; daughter Ð Mrs. W.H. Portwood of Seymour; 5 sisters Ð Mrs. R.B. Ashford, Mrs. J.T. Beard of Jacksboro; Mrs. Effie Gray of NM; Mrs. W.W. Chancellor of Mineral Wells, Mrs. Sallie Moore of Corsicana; 2 brothers
