The death was unexpected as he had been ill for a few days. The symptoms of scarlet fever only developed the day before he died. This was the first case ever in Jacksboro and a large number of children were exposed before this case had sufficiently developed for the physicians to determine the disease. The parents have the sympathy of a large number of relatives and friends.
