Alexander of the town of Texana County of Jackson in the State of Texas on this thirty first day of December one Thousand Eight-Hundred and Seventy, Personally appeared before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace for the County of Lavaca and State of Texas – Who being duly sworn according to Law declares that he is the identical person who was a Private in Captain Evan Cammerons Company of William S. Fishers Regiment of Cavalry. That he enlisted on the ___ day of December 1842 for the term of ___ indefinate. And was discharged at Perote in Mexico on the 16th day of September 1844 by reason of liberation. M. W. Judd Deputy ********************************** The State of Texas County of Lavaca Know all men by these presents that I, M.W. Alexander volunteered in Decbr 1842 in Capt. Evan Cameron’s Company Col. Wm. S. Fisher’s Regiment and served in said company at the Battle of Meir and was taken prisoner and kept as such in Mexico until discharged on the 16th of September 1844. I Believe myself to be entitled to a pension under the Pension Act approved August 13th, 1870. M. W. It is noted that Alexander is 52 years of age and a resident of Jackson Co. dtd: 12/31/1870 Pension Claim No. 978 for M. W. Alexander of Jackson Co. was approved on June 29th, 1871. He was paid $250.00 A Power of Attorney to John H. Livingood of Lavaca Co.
