She had lived in San Antonio with her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Scott Kercheville, for the past several months. She was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Lolita, Texas to Mary Elizabeth Peters and the late Terry J. Peters. Dorothy graduated from Edna High School at the age of 15 and received her B.S. in Institutional Management from Texas Woman's University in 1950. After a year's dietetic internship in Chicago she worked as a hospital dietician. While in Chicago she married Dr. Roy Joseph Aimone in 1952 and was a homemaker and mother. In 1962 she began teaching elementary school and retired in 1992 with 30 years experience. She also worked as a dietary consultant with nursing homes for 15 years. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Edna where she was active teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and working as a mentor with the language ministry literary program. She also volunteered with Helping Hands of Jackson County, an organization to help the needy. She was a life member and past president of the Retired Teachers Association and was a member of the Eleanor Brackenridge Literary Club. Dorothy was active in local politics and was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed her investment club as well as investing on her own. Survivors include: Sons, Roy John Aimone, M.D. of Victoria, Texas, Terry Timothy Aimone of Katy, Texas, and David Joseph Aimone of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Marlise Ann Kercheville of San Antonio; mother, Mary Elizabeth Peters of Edna; sister, Barbara Ann Purcell of Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers, A.J. Peters of Canyon, Texas, and Terry Dennis Peters of Huntsville, Texas; and 8 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Wednesday at Slavik Funeral Home in Edna, 782-2152. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 at the First Baptist Church in Edna. Graveside services will immediately follow at Memory Gardens of Edna. Pallbearers are Callaway Aimone, John Aimone, Douglas Purcell, Gregory Purcell, Daniel Purcell, and Scott Kercheville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts supporting pancreatic cancer research be made to The Johns Hopkins University and mailed to Ralph H.
