Brunkenhoefer Funeral services for Mitchell Ernest Brunkenhoefer were held Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Shiner with the Rev. Charles Eckert officiating. Interment followed at Shiner Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home. Mr. Brunkenhoefer died Dec. 16. Born April 30, 1922, in Rosenberg to the late Fred and Mary Esensee Brunkenhoefer, he was a retired potman for Alcoa and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II. He was a Lutheran. Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Kremling Brunkenhoefer, Ganado; daughters, Doris May, Dickinson, and Darlene Clendennen, Victoria; sons, Eugene Brunkenhoefer, Arcadia, and Allen Brunkenhoefer, Santa Fe, Texas; sister, Augusta Brunkenhoefer, Houston; brother, Alfred Dersen, Rosenberg; 14 grand- children; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; three sisters; and three brothers. Pallbearers were Emmett Brunkenhoefer, Gary Brunkenhoefer, Robert May Jr., Anthony May, Michelle Brunkenhoefer, Mitchell Brunkenhoefer, Charles Thompson, Michael May and Allison Brunkenhoefer. Honorary pallbearers were Crystal Clendennen, Melissa Brown, Deborah McLaughin, Kathryn Dorman and Delora Bunch.
