Martin Williams officiating. Interment followed at Hines Cemetery under the direction of Cook-Butler Funeral Home of Edna. Mr. Butler died Jan. 25. Born Feb. 8, 1928, in Edna to the late Henry Sr. and Serwiller Hines Butler, he was a retired longshoreman and restaurant owner. He was a member of Scruggs United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Ora Mae Butler, Edna; daughters, Jacqueline Williams and Tonia Butler, both of Houston; son, Bruce H. Butler, Missouri City; sisters, Giviller Callis, Houston, Lenora Jones, Corpus Christi, and Mozelle Washington, San Diego, Calif.; brothers, Joe Butler, Victorville, Calif. and Dr. Roosevelt Butler, Tacoma, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Henry Andre Butler, Rodney Butler, Festus Barnes, Shawn Hinderman, Rodney Caldwell and Marcus Piper. Honorary pallbearers were Christian and Marc Barnes Jr., Jovanley Castillo, Ahrmanley Williams and Nathanael Caldwell.
