Cervenka Funeral services for James L. Cervenka, 82, of Edna were held Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Edna. Interment followed at Memory Gardens of Edna under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home. Mr. Cervenka died Jan. 15. Born Oct. 5, 1919, in El Campo to the late Jim and Bertha Hubenak Cervenka, he was a retired barber and member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He and the late Cecelia Kasparek Cervenka were married Nov. 21, 1939 at El Campo. Survivors are sisters, Ann Wuthrich, Wharton, Ruby Wuthrich, Wichita Falls, and Tillie McClure, El Campo; and brothers, Gilbert Cervenka, Waldron, Ark. and John Cervenka, Cove, Ark. Pallbearers were Jay Edward Cervenka, Russell Cervenka, Larry McClure, Leroy P. Supak, Sherman Miller and Clint Wilkerson.
