Melvin Jester officiating. Mrs. Gibb died Nov. 24. Born Feb. 5, 1923, in Pleasanton to the late Jake Akers and Zola Hilburn Farley, she worked for Girling Home Health and was a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center in Atascosa County for many years. Survivors include daughter, Kathy Rogers, Inez; sons, Roger Machost, Fort Worth, Wayne Ewers, San Antonio, Richard Ewers, Inez, and Jerald Pashal, Caldwell; brother, Wilson Akers, Pleasanton; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; and a sister, Josephine Coble. Pallbearers were Brandon Rogers, Brian Rogers, Jeremy Hammack, Shiloh Monney, Shawn Bellamy and Gene Kimmell. Arrangements were under the direction of Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
