House Memorial services will be announced at a later date for Neoma “Chris” or “Priss” G. House, 67, of Inez who died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001. Born Feb. 7, 1934, in Yorktown, she was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, James R. House, Victoria; daughter, Collen Hoffman, Coca, Fla.; son, Bruce Conner, Oregon; mother, Nathalia Striedel Garbel, Edna; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by father, Rufus Garner; stepfather, Lee Garbel; and brother, Alton Garner. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosewood Funeral Chapels, Victoria. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas, 2004 Fagan Circle, Victoria, Texas 77901. Joseph Ralph Pantalone Sr. Funeral services for Joseph Ralph Pantalone Sr., 81, of Sweeny were held Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sweeny. Interment followed at Sweeny Cemetery under the direction of Baker Funeral Home of West Columbia. Mr. Pantalone died Aug. 27. Born Sept. 17, 1919, in Crabtree, Pa., he taught history, geography and science and coached for the Sweeny ISD for 34 years. He retired in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army-Air Force from 1940-1945. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1940. He received a bachelor of science degree in secondary education from Texas College of Arts and Industries in Kingsville, and a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburg in 1952. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Eloise Pantalone, Sweeny; sons, Joseph Ralph Pantalone Jr., LaVernia, Joel Lawrence Pantalone, Lake Jackson, Darrell Royal Pantalone, Austin; daughters, Gloria Jo Ewing and Bonnie Sue Doubek, both of Austin; and Joy Dawn Caracas, Venezuela; brothers, Daniel J. Pantalone, Crabtree, Pa. and Ralph J. Pantalone, Mooreland, Okla.; sisters, Dolores Goldenberg, Ft. Pierce, Fla., Gloria Reifschneider, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Eleanor Whirlow, Greensburg, Pa. and Marcelline Deresh, Crabtree, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and two great- grandsons. He was preceded in death by parents Raffaele and Joan Pantalone; brothers, Frank A. Pantalone, clement G. Pantalone and NaLale A. Pantalone; and sisters, Grace Gallagher and Josephine Pantalone. Pallbearers were William Wayne Akin, Phillip Joseph Doubek, Gregory Kent Ewing, Johnny Follett, Randy Miksch, Ebbie Neptune, L.A. Parks Jr., and Ronnie Pinchard. Honorary pallbearers were former students, coaches and colleagues.
