Jones Memorial services for Iva Caroline “Jonesie” Jones, 80, of LaSalle were held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at St. Theresa’s Hall with the Rev. Carolyn J. Cowan and the Rev. Jack Hutson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tracy’s M.J. Santellana Funeral Directors, Edna. Military honors were under the auspices of VFW Post No. 8556 of Lolita. Ms. Jones died Dec. 3. Born Oct. 21, 1921, in Windber, PA to the late Curtis A. and Jessie Violet Way Jones, she served in the U.S. Navy for two years and the U.S. Air Force for 22 years with tours of duty in Iceland, Germany, Okinawa and the U.S. She retired a Master Sergeant in 1973 and had since resided in LaSalle. She was a member of the Industrial Volunteer Ambulance Service in Vanderbilt for 10 years and served at the Jackson County elections for many years. Survivors include four nephews; a niece; and friend Nancy James and family. She was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Paul Jones, Lee Jones and Jim Jones.
