Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home. Mr. Lara died Nov. 30. Born Nov. 1, 1957, in Wharton to the late Eleno and Antonia Garcia Ortiz Lara, he worked maintenance for Victoria Nusing and Rehabilitation. Survivors include his wife, Christine Lara; daughters, Janelle Lara and Crystal Fuentes, both of Ganado; sons, Michael Lara and Eleno Lara, both of Ganado; sisters, Linda Garcia of Glen Flora, and Rosa Lara of Houston; and step-brothers, Carlos Ortiz of Wharton and Roy Ortiz of Lufkin. He was preceded in death by parents; and brother, Frank Lara. Pallbearers were Gerard Hungerford, Bodie Jaynes, Phillip Garza, Sonny Glidewell, Donald “Mongo” Hudson and Greg Hoffman. Honorary pallbearers were Rudy Sifuentez, Ernesto Montaloo, Carlos Ortiz, Roy Ortiz, and Charles Rogers.
