Interment followed at Ganado Cemetery under the direction of Ganado Funeral Home. Mr. Mercer died Jan. 14. Born Nov. 14, 1938, in Ganado to Alma Franklin Mercer of Ganado and the late Henry Eli Mercer Sr., he as a mechanic for Wharton County and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his mother; a daughter, Debra Summers, Ganado; sons, Donnie Mercer, Ganado, and James Mercer, Lolita; sisters, Lucy Wiese and Bertie Mercer, both of Ganado; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Lonnie Mercer; and sister, Flora Siecko. Pallbearers were Henry Pecha, Gus Tegeler, Ray Hendrex, Lamar Padon, Albert Stavinoha and Raymond Poncik. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Popp, Rickey Meeks, Arthur Sherrer, Harvey Parsons and Abel Cruz.
