Interment will follow at memory Gardens in Edna. Mr. Murray died Oct. 8. Born Sept. 3, 1928, to the late Phillip Murray I and Mary Bell Murray, he was a retired general manager at Flowers Motors in Galveston and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. Survivors include: wife, Velma Murray of Edna; daughters, Phyllis Elliott of Beckville, and Pan Van Lang of Dallas; stepdaughter, Brenda Uppling of Wyoming; sons, Phil “Buddy” Murray III of Garland, Keith Murray of Austin, Kevin Murray of Galveston, Eric Murray of Galveston; stepsons, Mark Douglas Reyes of LaMarque and Walter Glenn Reyes of Pearland; sister, Maynie cole of Waco; and sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Murray has received Navy metals which include: purple heart with cluster silver star, Navy cross and President unit citation. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Agnes Catholic Church.
