Riley Funeral services for Bernard J. “Bud” Riley, 82, of Goliad were held Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Ralph Baidoo officiating. Interment followed with military honors under the auspices of VFW Post No. 2784 and Goliad American Legion Post at Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home in Goliad. Mr. Riley died Nov. 30. Born Aug. 4, 1919, in St. Joe, Mo., to the late John Bernard and Gladys Kirkpatrick Riley, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and retired from DuPont. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Survivors include his wife, Annie Jo Thipen Riley, Goliad; daughter, Mary Ann Riley; sons, Gary Riley, Goliad, and Bernard E. “Bernie” Riley., Edna; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Frances Webb and Doroles Riley; and brother, Bernard E. Riley. Pallbearers were George Drost, Andy Cole, Marvin Janak, David Janak, Bill Volkmer and Marvin Gutierrez.
