Rod Funeral services for Mary B. Rod, 90, of El Campo were held Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Hillje with the Rev. Clement Quainoo officiating. Interment followed at Holy Cross Memorial Park under the direction of Triska Funeral Home of El Campo. Mrs. Rod died Nov. 24. Born Dec. 11, 1910, in Wharton County to the late Joseph and Frances Marik Baklik, she was a homemaker and a member of the KJZT Society. Survivors include daughters, Doris Otradovsky and Jocelyn Smith, both of El Campo, Isabel Voldan, Rosenberg, and Jeanette Labay, Ganado; sister, Hattie Zacek, Ganado; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Rod; parents; sisters, Frances Cerny and Angelina Rod; and brothers, Frank Baklik, Joe Baklik, Pete Baklik and Louis Baklik. Pallbearers were Al Otradovsky, Anthony Smith, Dennis Smith, Steven Wasicek, Pat Labay and Mike Labay.
