Jimmy Lee officiating. Interment followed at Gardens of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home. Visitation was on Thursday evening at the funeral Home. Mrs. Rutledge died Dec. 4 in Pasadena. Born April 18, 1914, to the late Jesse Frank Dewees and Linnie Jane Pittmann Dewees, she was a retired grocery checker and was named “Citizen of the Year” in 1988 in Louise. Survivors include daughter, Mildred St. John, Pasadena; son, Miller Rutledge, Edna; sister, Maudie Lee, Edna, and Irene Fullerton, Bellville; brother, Jesse Herman Dewees; two grandchildren Pam Chambers, Pasadena, and Craig Rutledge, Edna; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Craig Rutledge, Kelvin Morton, Shelton Morton, Scott Jenschke, Carl Greathouse and Dennis Morton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miller G. Rutledge; daughter, Helen Faye Rutledge; sister, Ruby Mouser; and brother, Adron Dewees. Honorary pallbearers were great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice.
