Mildred Isle Vance Schade 

Funeral services for Mildred Isle Vance Schade, 92, of Edna were held Wednesday, 
Jan. 2, 2002, at Edna Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Nancy White officiating. 
Interment followed at Memory Gardens of Edna under the direction of Slavik 
Funeral Home of Edna. 

Mrs. Schade died Dec. 30, 2001. Born June 20, 1909, in Decatur to the late Judge 
John T. and Lillian Callaway Vance, she was a homemaker and member of Edna 
Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Edna High School and the University 
of Texas. She and the late Gustav Ernest Schade were married in New York on 
Sept. 28, 1929. 

Survivors include daughters, Janet Mitchell, Edna, and Carol Buchanan, Boerne; 
brothers John T. Vance and Callaway Vance, both of Edna; six grandchildren; 
and 17 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by husband; parents; son, John Ernest Schade; and 
sister, Marie Zipp. 

Pallbearers were grandsons, M. Vance Mitchell, Stephen Mitchell and Wm. S. 
Buchanan Jr.; and grandsons-in-law, David Webel, Bob Gaines and Michael Lehmann. 

Memorials may be made to the Edna Presbyterian Church, 502 Apollo Dr., Edna, 
Texas 77957.
