Interment followed at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home. Mrs. Simicek died Nov. 2. Born March 10, 1929, in Engle, Fayette County, Texas to the late Emil and Agnes Zapalac Holec, she was a homemaker and member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Clement A. Simicek, Edna; daughter, Linda Chase, Edna; sister, Mary Simicek, El Campo; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Angeline Simicek, Christine Rickard and Agnes Kudelka; and a brother, Emil Holec. Pallbearers were Jason Miller, Shawn Miller, Will Pope, Mark Mazoch, James Simicek and Darrell Kudelka. Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Reed, Danny Hayes and Jerry Cepak. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; St. Agnes Catholic Church, Edna; or Assumption Catholic Church, Ganado.
