Robert LeBlanc officiating. Interment followed at Memory Gardens of Edna under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home. Mr. Sklar died Jan. 15. Born Oct. 6, 1916, in Hallettsville, to the late John and Augustine Holley Sklar, he was a self-employed carpenter and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Edna. Survivors include daughters, Veda Kozelsky and Holly Janca, both of Victoria; son, Alex Sklar Jr., Pasadena; sisters, Delores Brazeal, Magnolia, Ida Sklar and Lorene Vonfeldt, both of Commerce City, Colo., Irene Owing, Cheynne, WY, and Margie Sims, Deer Park; brother, Dennis Sklar, Houston; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Selma Cleveland Sklar; parents; son, Everett Sklar; brothers, Leo Sklar and Joe Thomas Sklar; and sisters, Elsie Revello, Loraine Sklar and Georgie Slusher. Pallbearers were Ron Summers, Royce Hudgeons, David Janca, Steve Janca, Andrew Janca and Tony Kutchka.
