Swenson Funeral services for Albert “Pel” William Swenson, 81, of Ganado were held Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at First United Methodist Church of Ganado with the Rev. Glenna Kelley officiating. Interment followed at Ganado Cemetery under the direction of Ganado Funeral Home. Mr. Swenson died Jan. 1. Born Jan. 23, 1920, in Hutto to the late Albert Walter and Sallie Mauritz Swenson, he was a self employed retired rice farmer and member of First United Methodist Church of Ganado. He was a member of the Men’s Breakfast Group and a former member of the G.I.S.D. Board of Trustees. He was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Air Force. He and Claudia Price Swenson were married February 14, 1958, in Wichita Falls. She preceded him in death. Survivors include sons, Alan Price Swenson, Missouri City, Brian Mauritz Swenson, El Campo; daughter, Sharon Swenson, Corsicana; Alice Staff, long-time friend and companion, Ganado; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Harry Maurine Swenson; and brothers, Carl Walter Swenson and Mauritz Swenson. Pallbearers were Bob Hultquist, Raymond Young, Howard Thompson, Robin Bauerle, J.B. Housson and Ross Stromberg. Honorary pallbearers were Dick Ottis, Bill Patman, Mark Staff, Millard Brisbois, Rodney Tegeler and Mary Kay George. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O.
