Luis Vega 

Funeral services for Luis Vega, 87, of San Juan were held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, 
at St. John’s Catholic Church in San Juan. Interment followed at San Juan 
Cemetery under the direction of DeLeon Funeral Home. 

Mr. Vega died Dec. 26. He was born June 21, 1914, in Mercedes to the late Ignacio 
and Damiana Vega. 

Survivors include daughters, Bernadina Ruiz and Paula Adame, both of San Juan, 
Juanita Vega, Christina Sustaita, Maria Elena Gonzalez and Angelita Tejeda, all 
of Farmer’s Branch, and Maria Del Rosario Lopez, Edna; sons, Refugio Vega, 
Carrollton, and Reyes Vega and Julian Vega, San Juan; 34 grandchildren; and 
80 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, San Juana Vega on July 24, 1982; a sister, 
Felipa Sanchez; and brothers, Rafael and Ernesto Vega.
