(Houston Post Special) JASPER, Texas, May 29. - E. T. Collins, one of the best citizens of Jasper county, died at Roganville yesterday morning very suddenly. He was a Confederate soldier, belonging to a Georgia regiment; moved to Jasper county soon after the war. Mr. Collins was a very progressive farmer and a man who took a deed interest in the affairs of the county, and was always in the lead for good schools, churches and the upbuilding of the morals of the county. He leaves a wife, who is a sister of Judge H. C. Howell and J. B. Howell, a prominent merchant of Jasper. The Masonic fraternity, to which he belonged, will bury him in the Jasper cemetery this morning.
