A Celebration of Evelyn Stott’s Life, age 89 of Jasper, Texas, will be 2:00pm on 
Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. 
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00pm, Monday, January 28, 2019 at the 
funeral home.

Evelyn died January 24, 2019 in Jasper, Texas. A native and longtime resident of 
Jasper, she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed working 
crossword puzzles, reading and working in her yard. She was employed by Jasper 
County Clerk, Eulis Hancock, for over 10 years as Deputy Clerk. Evelyn ran for 
office in 1979 and was awarded the Jasper County Clerk position, where she 
remained as the County Clerk for over 20 years before retiring in December of 
1998. She was also a member of the Jasper Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” Stott Sr. & wife Donna of Elizabeth 
City, North Carolina.; brother, Bill Stewart of Vidor, Texas; sisters, Geraldine 
Solberg of Groves, Texas and Gay Nell Folsom & husband Jimmy of Jasper; 
grandson, Robert Glenn Stott Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Briley Retsch and 
Meadow Grace Stott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Dudley Stewart and Ora Jane 
Stewart; her husband, Cole Coulthart; son, David W. Stott; brothers, Everett 
“Doc” Stewart, James Stewart, and Douglas Stewart; sisters, Pat Davis, Oline 
Harris, Anita Black and granddaughter, Kari Lin Stott.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.
