BOYER, 52, RITES MONDAY PORT ARTHUR MAN DIES IN HOSPITAL OF ILLNESS Port Arthur - James Q. Boyer Jr., 52, 3160 Lakeshore, died at 3:40 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Hospital after a six-month illness A requiem Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday ai St. James's Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Floyd Mayo, Dewitt Walters, Hal Davis, Frank Youngblood, George Clarke and Mayo Wells. At the time of his death, Boyer was a partner in the B & B Novelty Co. of Beaumont. He formerly operated Boyer's Cigar Store and Channel Grill Dinner Club in Port Arthur and once owned the Edson Motel in Beaumont. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Judy Boyer of Port Arthur; two sons, James Stephen Boyer of Houston, and Richard Boyer of Port Arthur; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Cappadona Port Arthur; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. James Q. Boyer Sr. of Stafford, Tex; two sisters, Mrs. Bob Newton of Stafford and Mrs. Floyd Vine of Houston; three brothers, Walter Boyer and Cmdr. Fred Boyer, both of Kingsville and Hugh Boyer of North Caroline.
