Mamie O. Cantrell, 87, of Bridge City passed away on Friday, March 10, 2006, at
Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves. Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M.
Monday, March 13, 2006, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves with Clary Chesson
officiating. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 P.M.
until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, March 12th at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
Mamie was born on January 7, 1919, in Port Arthur, Texas to her parents, J. L.
Roberts and Mary LaPlace. She had lived in the Port Arthur and Bridge City area
all of her life and was a homemaker. Mamie was a member of the Assembly of God;
she was loved by many especially her family and will be dearly missed. Survivors
include her sisters, Mildred Davidson of California and Gloria Ardoin of Bridge
City. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lonnie Cantrell who
passed away in 2002 and her four sisters and one brother. 5200 W. Parkway
