All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Beaumont City Library 695 Pearl Street Beaumont, Texas 77701 Microfilm BEAUMONT ENTERPRISE October 10, 1940 MISS JACK WARD DIES IN CAPITAL Former Beaumont Woman Is Sistor of Vidor Resident Miss Jack Ward, about 50, formerly of Beaumont, died in her home in Washington, D.C., Tuesday night after a long illness, according to information received by her brother, Voltaire Ward of Vidor, yesterday morning. Miss Ward was a native of Beaumont and was widely known in this city prior to the time she left in 1917. She had been employed by the veterans administration in Washington for the last 17 years. She is the daughter of Andrew Jackson Ward of Washington, D.C., and the late Mrs. Andrew Jackson Ward. The entire family lived here prior to 1917. In addition to Voltaire Ward, she is survived by another brother, Stanford Ward, also of Vidor. She was a member of the Episcopal church. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon in Washington. Voltaire Ward will attend the services.
