Services will be in Kelley-Hixson Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Thursday with Dr. Ed B. Bowles, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Mrs. Ward was an active member of the First Baptist Church and in her Sunday School for many years. Being a member of a prominent pioneer Tyler County family, she has family and friends throughout Beaumont and East Texas. Survivors include three sons, Jerry D. Ward, Alexandria, Va., Dr. Kyle Ward Jr., Appleton, Wisc., and Clark M. Ward, Lake Charles, La., one daughter, Mrs. Smyth Walden, Beaumont; two brothers, Joe Best, Woodville and George Best, Jasper; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Wright and Mrs. Martin F. Nellius, both of Woodville and Mrs. Josh Barclay of Kilgore. Pallbearers will be Smyth Walden Jr., Beaumont; Ward Walden, Baytown; Tom K. Ward, Houston; Hal C. Ward, Lake Charles; Dr. Martin F. Nellius, Jr., Beaumont; John Carmichael, Beaumont; Gilbert Wright and Jeff Mooney, Woodville; and Danny Wheat, Beaumont.
