B. Newberry's store and in less than fifty minutes the building and the entire stock of general merchandise valued at $5000, were completely consumed. Insurance, $3000. A barber shop and an empty warehouse were also destroyed. Other adjacent buildings were saved by application of water and wet blankets. Note: Alice is the County seat of Jim Wells County.
