PATTON Rev. James R. Patton died at his residence in Johnson County, Texas. He had suffered greatly since June 20th of typhoid fever which was accompanied with inflamation of the lungs and bowels. He was born in Claiborne, Mississippi, March 4, 1830. He departed this life July 1, 1858. He professed religion in his 19th year and began preaching in his 22nd year. He soon afterwards removed to Texas where he devoted much of his time serving the church. He was married to Cassandra R. Holland, the daughter of George M. and L. M. Holland, June 17, 1850.
