Everyone who lives in the community is proud of it. Bunker Hill community has the honor of having the best country school in Haskell county. The school is a three-teacher school with (as the state inspector stated) one of the best libraries in Texas. Bunker Hill has a fully equipped playground: flag pole, volley ball court, basketball court, tennis court, baseball diamond. The school made a wonderful record in the Interscholastic League meet this year, having carried off four of the beautiful silver loving cups given at the county meet, April 1-2. A Baptist church was organized at this place last summer. In connection with the church, a good Sunday school is also held here every Sunday morning, and singing every first and third Sunday. Another good help to the community are the two filling stations. MartinÕs store is very near the school and is therefore a great held to school children in getting their school supplies. MorganÕs filling station has been put up just recently. The community is very proud of the tennis courts put up just in front of MartinÕs store. What is that peeping out of the woods about a mile southeast of the school? An Ôoil derrickÕ watch us grow!
